Very very poor treatment of our case. We had a tenant that was threatening to kill our pets and was being very abusive. She was getting away with so much of it, so we seeked an attorney. The moment I went into Steve's office I was extra stressed, because of all the clutter. I read later on that a messy lawyer's office is a VERY BAD SIGN. But I hadn't read it soon enough. After we shared our situation, he listened to the voicemails of her being verbally abusive, he saw texts, I kept him and his assistant Cathy up to date thoroughly. Steve then told me that this wasn't good enough evidence, and that I have PTSD so I view things much scarier than they are to people. He posed this like he was sincere but really this guy took $200 from us before we even decided to go forward with things. He dismissed us being able to use evidence which I later called 3 more lawyers about the evidence I had and shared it and they said he was absolutely wrong and that her threats were serious. Steve downplayed our situation with a sincere kindness in his voice, took our money at a "discounted" rate and then proceeded to not stay in contact at all. And the time frames kept changing. He would say to call him. No answer. He'd say that we'd get answers, the m he'd say "it's all upto the courts". At one point he even flat out lied, telling me he left me a huge voicemail explaining and yet there was nothing. His assistant lied as well saying they called a few times a week in 30 days. We looked at the calls in there time frame, and Cathy only called when she was called. They did not communicate without being contacted. All we wanted was to feel safe. All we wanted was communication and honesty. All we asked for was that. And when I brought it to Steve's attention he said my perception was off and that his assistant kept in contact with us. He denied everything. Blamed us. Took our money 5 days into talking with him and then when we wanted more communication he blamed us for it. Saying "Well if you didn't call everyday". And when I spoke with the other lawyers offices they said a customer that had to contact the lawyer more instead of the lawyer staying in communication is a bad sign. OVERALL. Save your money. Look at reviews. Steve and his assistant come off kind but it's all fake. Cathy is okay with lying, and Steve is fine with lying and cutting off customers. His downside was blaming PTSD, and blaming his not communicating. Blaming in general. Bad sign. Don't do what we did, don't skip the reviews. Don't let him sweet talk you into doing things his way. I was unable to see my son because this woman was in my home, and because Steve got his money we were just unimportant. And I missed my son's birthday because I needed to protect him from someone hurting him. AND when we recommended getting a restraining order against her he deterred us from that too. Overall this guy just doesn't want to do much, but he wants to get paid. And he will blame you for any concerns you have. And cut you off. Very fake kindness.

He is defending a man that almost killed his ex girlfriend and then proceeded to make up a big enough story to steal the children away from their mother. Ventura county and this lawyer have failed this woman. He isn’t expierenced in this kind of case at all

Called to get assistance with immigration (green card) issue. Was told "No , we don't do that" even though it states the opposite on their website.
